STYLE || Splurge worthy Style
So even though for most of us January is our most broke month of the year ,it doesn’t have to be the least stylish month of the year. For me restyling clothes in my closet is the equivalent to buying a new item of clothing. You still feel good about your new look but you don’t feel as bad about spending money after a lavish festive season.
With this look in particular I kind of splurged on this of the shoulder shirt, but my splurge was not without reason. Before I purchased it I thought of how many ways I could style this specific garment, immediately I knew of 5 ways I could style it with current items in my closet. I knew that the price of R699 was worth the value I was going to get out of this trend piece.
For this look I paired the shirt with my favourite “tie die” detailed jeans. I’m obsessed with jeans lately, I think I’ve probably bought like 4 pairs this December ? I also added some neutral accessories, like this camel colored fedora and my infamous sliver buckled belt. And lastly because the tie die detail is on the hem of the jean I added a shoe that elongated my figure without me having to cuff my jeans.
For expensive items I tend to be a bit more hesitant, only because I’m the type of person that likes to reinvent myself with every outfit, and I hate being stuck with just one style or look. If you’re like me and have multiple pieces you have only worn once, I challenge you this year to make those pieces work in more than one way. Shopping in your closet may be the most pocket friendly way to spend January.
